In Brief: End of the School Year Gifts

With a recent post on Edgar Allan Poe, I thought I’d show off my Edgar Allan Poe mug. This beauty is my prized coffee-drinking apparatus. A teacher at school gave it to me, and it was the perfect gift because not only is it covered in great Poe quotes, but it’s stocky and hard to knock over, it has wonderful colors with a few key pictures from Poe’s stories, and the detailing is high quality – I don’t think the paint will wear off any time soon (I’m looking at you, half-indiscernible University of New Mexico mug). Also, last-but-not-least, the mug features the “mug” of the man himself.

School wrapped up last week, which is why this blog’s been a little “light” as of late. As summer continues, however, that should change. Now, back to the topic of mugs: I got the mug-giver a famous psychologists mug, since it is a topic near and dear to her heart, and one of the other two English teachers a funny coffee-table book with famous book covers but re-written titles, and the second a book on cults. That last gift was because the teacher in question got me and Leah into Netflix’s Wild Wild Country, the best documentary I have seen in a very long time, and something I’ll have to write about soon. Check it out if you have time, and happy summer!
