A Return to Blogging

Wow, it’s been a busy few years.

So what have Leah and I been up to? Since we last updated this blog, we’ve worked from home and gotten through quarantine, gone back to work, coached, done a lot of hiking, and worked on our house. We’ve buttoned down, learned to order groceries, celebrated birthdays and weddings online, then started to travel again. In the summer we saw my (Jeff’s) parents for the first time in nearly two years, and the same happened with Leah’s dad. Luckily, Leah’s mom lives pretty close, and we’ve kept in pretty good contact.

Other big news: we got a dog. His name is Linus, he’s a pug, and he’s the most wild and crazy little guy on Earth. It’s funny, but you don’t really realize how much you can bond with an animal, perhaps, until you invite one to live with you for a couple of years. Or to live in your bed, which is where Linus tries to spend most of his time–much to my chagrin. I mean, he’s a sweetie, but it makes it hard to sleep. But I guess I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So needless to say, the blog took a back seat. I’m still writing though, and Leah’s still cooking. I’m going to keep the occasional update going, and I haven’t stopped getting things published here and there, but I just haven’t had the “bandwidth” (as the kids say say) to get on the old Batch & Narrative.

As for the house, it’s been room painting, quarter-round installing, patching, sanding, plumbing, basement-sealing, ROOFING, door replacing and painting, floor refinishing, so much caulking, and more. Thank goodness we got something to keep us busy, right? But most importantly, Leah and I have been staying safe, and our families as well, though a few people we know have really experienced the worst of this pandemic, and just hold smokes. So for now, wishing everyone the best. More updates to come. Thanks for your patience. And once again, hope everyone else is doing well.
